Project Support Officer

Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity in our Research, Partnerships and Innovation (RPI) team for someone with a passion for supporting the University’s activities to work with partners to make the region greener, healthier, and more innovative for all. Whether this is through working with partners to improve health outcomes and economic growth or supporting sustainable development projects, you will use your skills in project support and, crucially, communication to make a positive impact on our regional engagement and innovation activities.

You will have proven experience of helping to coordinate and deliver diverse work programmes. Able to work independently, flexibly, and collaboratively as part of an enthusiastic team and you will be able to adapt your skills to new circumstances with an appreciation of broader strategic and longer-term implications.

The RPI team plays a central role in the delivery of partnerships, innovation and knowledge exchange, regional engagement and academically led collaborations to support the delivery of groundbreaking research, teaching and impact at the University of Sheffield. You will have a direct impact on these activities by providing efficient and effective support for the delivery of two key themes of the University’s regional engagement work.

Friendly and ambitious, the team operates in a fast-paced environment working closely with colleagues across the whole University as well as external partners at regional and national level - so well-developed communication skills and the ability to forge strong networks are essential!

We are committed to enabling our employees to work in a hybrid model with flexibility over when, where and how to achieve the required outputs, in discussion with your manager.

We are committed to exploring flexible working opportunities which benefit the individual and University.

We’re one of the best not-for-profit organisations to work for in the UK. The University’s Total Reward Package includes a competitive salary, a generous Pension Scheme and annual leave entitlement, as well as access to a range of learning and development courses to support your personal and professional development.
We build teams of people from different heritages and lifestyles from across the world, whose talent and contributions complement each other to greatest effect. We believe diversity in all its forms delivers greater impact through research, teaching and student experience.
