The University of Sheffield has an exciting opportunity for a Knowledge Exchange Associate to join our Knowledge Exchange Team in the Faculty of Social Sciences. This is an excellent time to join our team as the faculty implements its new KE and impact strategy and seeks to build upon its reputation for world-leading impact emerging from its research.
The Knowledge Exchange Team enables departments and research centres across the Faculty of Social Sciences to maximise the beneficial societal and economic impact of our transformative research. You will lead on the development of a portfolio of excellent knowledge exchange projects and facilitate and develop collaborations with key strategic partners and support the identification of exciting future collaborations. You will support research staff and students to maximize the quality of impact arising from their research through enhancing staff and students’ knowledge exchange skills, supporting high quality public engagement activities, advising on research funding applications and curating a portfolio of impact case studies.
The Faculty’s Knowledge Exchange offering has recently undergone a significant restructuring, bringing together experienced KE and impact staff into one team to work across our thirteen departments and five strategic research institutes. The team has a collaborative and supportive working style and a shared approach to problem solving is valued. Whilst the successful candidate will act as the lead KE contact for the Department of Economics and the School of Management there will be opportunities to support projects across the faculty.
The successful applicant will have a strong understanding of knowledge exchange excellence and University research environments. They will have a keen interest to work at the forefront of knowledge exchange and have a good honours degree (or equivalent experience), ideally in a social sciences discipline. The post holder will have strong communication skills and an ability to work independently and as part of a team.
