Job Description

Are you passionate about making a difference? Do you enjoy working in a team environment to deliver meaningful fundraising projects? Can you inspire others to take action and support ground-breaking research and education? If you can answer yes to all three, this could be the perfect position for you.

The Campaigns and Alumni Relations department (CAR) at the University of Sheffield is looking to recruit a Fundraising Officer to help sustain and grow our global community of supporters.

Working alongside a team of fundraising colleagues, you’ll play a vital role in growing our mass fundraising programme – which includes direct mail, telephone fundraising and community fundraising. In this varied and dynamic role, you will utilise different income streams to create an annual programme of activities and events that feed into the University’s fundraising goals and priorities.

A natural communicator with a flair for building relationships, you will develop and engage with a network of supporters who are passionate about the University and the projects we fundraise for. Professional, confident, and enthusiastic you will use your excellent project management and interpersonal skills to generate support for these causes and grow our supporter base.

We are one of the best not-for-profit organisations to work for in the UK. The University’s Total Reward Package includes a competitive salary, a generous Pension Scheme and annual leave entitlement, as well as access to a range of learning and development courses to support your personal and professional development.

We are committed to exploring flexible working opportunities which benefit the individual and University. Hybrid-working is currently being trialled with options for some home-working going forward.

We build teams of people from different heritages and lifestyles from across the world, whose talent and contributions complement each other to greatest effect. We believe diversity in all its forms delivers greater impact through research, teaching and student experience.
