Job Description
Here at the Disclosure and Barring Service, safeguarding vulnerable groups is at the heart of everything we do. We issue almost 6 million DBS checks every year, providing information to employers and organisations, so they can prevent unsuitable people from working with children or vulnerable adults. We also make complex decisions about whether to bar somebody from getting jobs in certain sectors. This is a pivotal moment in the future of DBS, it is the start of major change and we are looking for people who can hit the ground running. In this role you can be directly responsible for shaping the future of our organisation.As the Finance Director, you will be responsible for the delivery of all financial reporting and risk management processes.  You will support the Chief Financial Officer in bringing transactional services in-house, ensuring the development and implementation of a robust organisational strategy and associated financial planning to enable the organisation to achieve its strategic objectives.

This is a critical senior appointment requiring an experienced visionary finance leader with a proven track record in a comparable senior finance role, with the ability to operate within a constantly changing and complex environment. This position requires a financially qualified, credible,  commercially aware senior leader to drive us through change and transformation.  To succeed in this challenging and influential role you will need confidence, outstanding communication skills and the ability to think creatively and innovatively.
