Are you a current University of Brighton student looking to undertake a paid placement year between your 2nd and final year? If so, are you an outgoing and energetic individual who would like to assist with the implementation of the University’s student recruitment and outreach activities? If so we would love to hear from you.
This role primarily focuses on activities such as attending higher education fairs and delivering presentations online or in person, targeted at sixth form students in years 12 and 13. You should be able to demonstrate excellent presentation and communication skills, as well as the ability to relate to, and empathise with school and college students exploring possible higher education options. You will also assist with the organisation of a range of events including the University’s open days for prospective students and will need to be able to demonstrate good administrative and organisational skills.
Recently recruitment events have moved online, however, you should hold a clean driving licence in order to travel extensively within the UK if required (a university vehicle or hire care will be arranged for you if needed). Some weekend and evening work is required, for which time in lieu or overtime is arranged. Leave for this post is usually taken during school/college holiday periods. To be successful you will need to work flexibly and effectively with team members across the Student Recruitment and Outreach division as well as the wider Marketing and Communications department.
Interviews are anticipated for mid-February. Approximate start date of early to mid-June 2021 depending on your studies.
The post is fixed term until 31/07/2022.
If you would like further information about this post, please feel free to contact our current placement student Asher Foister on email@example.com or Student Recruitment Officer, Suzi Lamb on firstname.lastname@example.org.
