Senior Library Assistant

Job Description

Do you have experience supervising an experienced team of public facing staff? In this exciting role at our Falmer campus you will spend part of your time at our busy Help Desk assisting customers to access library services using library systems and online resources; answering first level resource, IT and fines queries; and dealing with returned books. Other regular duties will include routine tasks such as circulation of stock, shelving and moving materials to maintain a safe and conducive study environment.

  • An interest in improving the student experience
  • Experience of working in a library or similar information related setting is essential

This is a part-time post for 22.5 hours per week, excluding meal breaks (these are unpaid). The working days are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Occasional evening cover will also be required, and some weekend working for which appropriate enhancements and time off in lieu is given.
