This is an exciting opportunity to ensure that equality and human rights are at the centre of the next Programme for Government in Wales and that we are well placed to maximise impact of our current and new strategic plan. The role will also lead our work to ensure the successful implementation of the Socio-economic Duty in Wales.

We are looking for someone with a strong skill set in public affairs and a deep understanding of the political context in Wales

The key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Lead and co-ordinate our first 100 days project to ensure that the new Programme for Government in Wales embeds our priorities on equality and human rights. This will mean co-ordinating our policy messages across complex issues and clearly communicating them to key stakeholders; and liaising with colleagues in both the Wales team and the GB policy teams to maximise impact.
  • Lead our work on socio-economic disadvantage in Wales, working with public bodies to advise on the implementation of the socio-economic duty based on our research evidence and policy positions.
  • Deliver policy and communications strategies to maximise the impact of our strategic plan in Wales, maintaining and building on our strong stakeholder relationships.

Selection process

Following the shortlisting, a variety of assessment methods may be used including psychometric assessment, competency based interview, technical interview and practical exercises such as a presentation, in-tray exercise etc.

Reserve List

• Those applicants who meet the benchmark agreed by the panel and who are not offered a vacancy at this time will have the opportunity to take a place on the reserve list for a period of 12 months.
