We have an exciting opportunity in IT Services for someone with a passion for Data Science looking to use their skills to make an impact on our Research IT programme. Our developing Research IT programme adopts and drives best practice across the University and facilitates the advancement of complex research by providing leading edge computing services. You will be helping advance our capability to meet the demands associated with developing and enhancing our provision of research computing services with an emphasis on research data analysis Working closely with the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Sheffield Methods Institute, this is a particularly interesting time to work with the team as we start to develop support over a wide range of areas including big data analytics, machine learning and increasing our support for analysing sensitive/secure datasets. Supporting researchers across all faculties you will work with data engineers, data scientists and the library to develop the service, providing training and support for our qualitative data researchers including tools such as NVIVO.
