Job Description

The Academic Development Unit (ADU) provides a strategic and operational influence on teaching, learning, assessment and research. The ADU is the central Department for the development and support of academic practice, including research, for staff and undergraduate and postgraduate students. The ADU has responsibility for:

  • Academic Strategy, including Learning & Teaching and Research
  • Quality enhancement
  • Academic staff development
  • Technology enhanced learning

The main purpose of this post is to support the use and development of technology enhanced learning within the School of Health and Social Care, in line with strategic objectives. The post holder can expect to spend the majority of their time delivering training, development and support directly to staff and students within the blended learning nursing programmes, both on campus and remotely. The post holder will also create online resources, promote best practice and support School-led initiatives, particularly with regards to developing the use of an online examinations system and virtual reality technology. This role will involve creating strong working relationships with the School of Health & Social Care and professional departments who support learning, teaching and assessment.
