Working in this role, you will be a key component in the cross-DVSA User Centered Design Community. You will be directly responsible for the research and UX/UI design across the Search and DES applications, working collaboratively with the Senior User Researcher, Performance Analyst, Business Analysts and wider delivery team.
Roles Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Planning, designing and implementing user journey flows.
- Tapping into your UI/UX expertise to solve problems surfaced by users.
- Development of user-facing features ensuring technical feasibility of UI/UX designs in line with GDS guidelines.
- Design services that are responsive to user needs and efficient, scalable and robust.
- Taking end-to-end ownership of interaction design tasks and solutions from initial concept to delivery.
- Identifying improvements to existing services and working within digital teams to manage the implementation of these.

To thrive in this role, you will hold a good working understanding of interaction design, information architecture, visual design and prototyping. You will hold demonstrable experience of responsive design and designing for the mobile first. This will be coupled with proven experience designing to meet accessibility standards. We would love to hear from candidates with a familiarity with Service Design techniques to enable testing and prototyping. These qualities will be combined with the ability to gather and deliver actionable insights through User Research, communicating technical design clearly and effectively in conversation, documentation and presentations.
