Job Description

It is an exciting time for HM Land Registry as we continue on a major transformation programme. HMLR’s ambition is to become the world’s leading land registry for speed, simplicity and an open approach to data.

To help us to achieve this, we are now looking for two Infrastructure Engineers, one to join our IT Security Team and another to join our Identity Management Team, within our Digital, Data and Technology Directorate.

HM Land Registry’s existing software systems and services form part of the critical national infrastructure, safeguarding land and property ownership valued at £7 trillion. This enables over £1 trillion worth of personal and commercial lending to be secured against property across England and Wales.

Job description

As an Infrastructure Engineer within the IT Security Team, you will focus on delivering a range of activities to support the implementation and compliance with HM Land Registry’s security policies as well as the maintenance of information security controls across the organisation. You will perform routine administration tasks, product upgrades and installs. You will also support internal and external users with incident resolution and resolve infrastructural issues.

As an Infrastructure Engineer within the Identity Management Team, you will be responsible for the management of existing and delivery of new security controls across HM Land Registry’s varied IT infrastructure. You will provide second and third line support for access control issues, implement new security systems and apply changes to security infrastructure. You will also manage user accounts and access control functions and provide security incident response and investigation.

Responsibilities

To meet the requirements of these roles, you will hold a qualification in Information Technology or a related area, at degree level or equivalent, or have relevant experience in an IT field. You will also have specific in depth knowledge, proven expertise and practical experience relevant to the role(s) you are interested in applying for, as detailed below:

Infrastructure Engineer – IT Security Team:

• Experience in the use of Windows Server 2012 or newer version
• Experience in either Active Directory, Group Policy or NTFS Security

Infrastructure Engineer – Identity Management Team:

• Experience in the use of Windows Server 2012 or newer version
• Experience in either Active Directory, Group Policy, NTFS Security or Scripting technologies

For either role, it is also essential that you are experienced in high-level planning, managing technical change and technical information gathering, analysis and problem solving. You must have effective communication skills and be able to interact and build sound working relationships with engineers and other stakeholders.

Where an individual taking up the responsibility will be based in Swansea Office, the ability to speak Welsh is desirable.
