Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Information Security and Infrastructure Manager to join the Barbican Centre and Guildhall School of Music and Drama’s busy IT team.

The Barbican Centre is Europe’s largest multi-arts and conference venue. The Guildhall School of Music and Drama, is a world leading specialist Performing Arts Conservatoire, investing in the artists of today and tomorrow.

The IT Department supports both the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and the Barbican Centre and this role will work across the entirety of the information and infrastructure security areas to provide secure networks and ensure the maintenance and development across all technology infrastructure areas.

You will have specific knowledge of servers, networks, edge security, virtualisation and remote access and will be expected to utilise your expert knowledge and experience to resolve complex issues.

You will also have significant experience in the monitoring, management and development of IT security systems (e.g. AV/anti-malware/two-factor auth/phishing threat management), along with qualifications and experience in Information Security, Telecommunications, LAN and WAN data network and storage infrastructure equivalent to NVQ level 4, Cisco, Juniper, Microsoft Office 365 and Azure.

To be successful you will have proven IT project management experience and hold a recognised qualification (eg PRINCE2 or Agile). Excellent written communication skills are also essential as the role requires a range of technical documentation to be produced including service reports, infrastructure improvement and project implementation plans.

This role also requires recruiting, managing and developing people, with an ability to use coaching skills to drive high level performance and create a supportive working environment.

Please note: the successful candidate will be required to have a basic DBS check and will occasionally be required to work outside of the standard hours.
