The School of Science and Technology is an exciting multi-disciplinary environment for learning, teaching and research. Our portfolio of undergraduate courses covers the School’s core disciplines of Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, Biosciences, Chemistry, Forensics, Sport Science, Computing and Technology. Our research is multi-disciplinary and was highly rated in REF2014; in our teaching and research we aim to be exciting, innovative and relevant.
We are seeking to appoint Hourly Paid Lecturers in the Department of Computing and Technology. Our areas of specific interest are cyber-security/forensics/networking; data science/big data/cloud infrastructure; software engineering; and robotics. In addition to appropriate knowledge and experience, you should possess excellent communication and presentation skills and a willingness to flexibly contribute to teaching and associated duties on undergraduate programmes in any or all of these areas. The work could involve, for example, taking lectures, seminars and / or laboratory classes, particularly at first and second year undergraduate level. Duties may also include preparation and marking where required.
Special Conditions: £43.80 per direct teaching hour. This includes the following elements: teaching, preparation and marking of the scheduled programme of work (Flat rate of £17.52 will be paid for completing one of the above elements of the schedule).
