We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated person to oversee the operation and development of degree apprenticeships and to provide functional leadership to the Apprenticeship team within the Faculty. The successful candidate will be expected to develop recommendations for the Faculty with respect to the ongoing operational management of degree apprenticeships in response to any changes introduced by government / funding agency / University, as well as establish good working relationships with all relevant internal and external contacts. An important part of the role will be managing other workers on the programmes and consequently good communication and outstanding interpersonal skills are essential. Other responsibilities will include preparing reports; participating in scheduled electronic and face-to-face meetings.
The successful applicant must hold a professional qualification in Science or Engineering and have significant experience in managing/operating apprenticeships, worked in industry and have experience of work-based learning. They should also have successfully managed a range of projects, developed strategies and have skills in project management, risk management and progress reporting. Also required is proven experience with using computerised management information systems, excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility in their working hours and excellent self-management and organisation skills, including the ability to prioritise; and a task and goal-oriented approach. The successful candidate must hold a full UK driving licence and be willing to travel within the region. Training will be provided where necessary.
