Our Student Support Services function makes an important contribution to the NTU student experience, providing a range of specialist and professional services for students and operating in an integrated, multidisciplinary student services context across three University sites.

The School of Animal, Rural and Environmental Sciences is located at our Brackenhurst campus, a 200-hectare estate near the Minster town of Southwell. During the last five years, we have invested in our provision to grow the number of students studying on further education programmes, including wildlife conservation, veterinary science and commercial farming.

We are seeing to appoint a Disability & Wellbeing Officer to work with our Further Education Students in The School of Animal, Rural and Environmental Sciences.

Educated to degree level, the successful candidate will have a strong   understanding of current practice of the provision of support services for students in further education. You will have significant experience of providing support to vulnerable individuals, making recommendations for reasonable adjustments for disabled students and working in partnership with other professionals to find support solutions.

The role will provide support to the academic school in developing and delivering proactive strategies for supporting students. You will manage a caseload of students, be competent in needs assessment and risk management and provide early intervention to students experiencing a range of personal and practical difficulties and experiences that may impact on their academic progression. In addition, you will have strong communication, organisation and prioritisation skills.
