Job Description

Cheshire Constabulary is an innovative, ambitious and progressive force and we are seeking experienced high calibre Detective Sergeants and Detective Constables to join our force.

To apply for these opportunities you must be Qualified through the completion of the Initial Crime Investigators Development Programme (ICIDP) and it is essential that you have significant experience of working on major investigations and HOLMES.

You must also be able to evidence substantial experience in some but not all of the following areas:

  • File building for major investigations
  • Disclosure officer for major investigations
  • Exhibit handling in major investigations
  • Family Liaison Officer/Coordinator
  • Interviewing for major investigations
  • Digital Media Investigator for major investigations
  • Large volume CCTV work

Further eligibility criteria for any officer wishing to apply is as follows;

  • Be a serving police officer with a Home Office force and not subject to a probationary period
  • Have a full driving license
  • Have no outstanding PSD, discipline or integrity issues
  • Meet the force attendance criteria and be committed to achieving high levels of attendance
  • If successful through the transferee recruitment process you will be investigating identified lines of enquiry in homicide and other serious crime investigations across the force area or in other force areas, and to discharge functions within major incident rooms including but not exclusively attending crime scenes, post mortems, exhibit management, disclosure management, digital media investigations.

You will be required to work a syndicate based shift pattern to provide seven day cover, with the flexibility to work on an MIT investigation anywhere within the Cheshire force area predominately within a Major Incident Room environment.

Qualifications
