Job Description

We have an interesting and varied role for an experienced administrator to join our friendly and hardworking team.

The Departmental Administrator provides a full administrative support function to the Human Resources department, ensuring the smooth and effective day to day running of the office and the general administration which supports it.

You will need to be a confident communicator with excellent customer services skills to act as the first point of contact for queries that come into the team by email, Teams, face to face and by telephone.

More generally you will pro-actively manage and take responsibility for the smooth running of the general office systems and identify opportunities for improvements.  Duties will include budget administration and payment of invoices, managing and ordering supplies, the organisation and minuting of meetings and other general administrative tasks to support a wide range of HR systems, processes, projects and initiatives as required for different teams in the department.

You will need excellent planning and organisational skills, be a good team player and have the ability to work with minimal supervision.  Additionally you will deal with occasionally sensitive and often confidential information so an appreciation of data protection issues is important.  We are also looking for a basic knowledge and understanding of the principles underpinning HR procedures and processes and a commitment to equality and diversity more broadly.

The role is based on our Moulsecoomb Campus but there are opportunities for some remote working too.  There is some flexibility as to when hours can be worked, but ideally this should be over a minimum of four days a week.
