Job Description

It is an exciting time for HM Land Registry as we continue on a major transformation programme. HMLR’s ambition is to become the world’s leading land registry for speed, simplicity and an open approach to data.

We are now looking for Data Quality Administrator’s to join our Digital, Data and Technology team to help us to achieve this.

HM Land Registry’s existing software systems and services form part of the critical national infrastructure, safeguarding land and property ownership valued at £7 trillion. This enables over £1 trillion worth of personal and commercial lending to be secured against property across England and Wales.

Job description

As a Data Quality Administrator, you will primarily be working as part of the Local Land Charges (LLC) quality assurance team.

In this role you will be performing a range of predefined quality assurance tests against textual and spatial data sets at a variety of key check points, both during and after digitisation, transformation and migration of the Local Authority data into the HM Land Registry LLC central register.

You will be responsible for quickly and accurately assessing compliance of the submitted data against established specifications and standards by carrying out semi-automated and manual assessments, to identify gaps, errors and irregularities.


To meet the requirements of this role, you will have a GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics (Grade C/Grade 4 or above), and the ability to consolidate, integrate and interpret geographic information and mapping data from a variety of different sources.

You will have excellent attention to detail, with a proven ability of applying a methodical and consistent approach to assessing information across a variety of different data sources and you can work confidently with a range of internal and/or external stakeholders to achieve a single goal.

In addition, you will have strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to assess, adjust and prioritise concurrent work activities. Good IT skills, with recent experience of utilising Microsoft based software, including Outlook, Word and Excel are essential.

Where an individual taking up the responsibility will be based in Swansea Office, the ability to speak Welsh is desirable.
