Clinical Teacher

Job Description

This post would be ideally suited to dental practitioners with an interest in the education of dental hygiene and dental therapy students, and has as its primary role the provision of teaching and teaching innovation. The majority of the clinical aspects of the teaching will take place within Charles Clifford Dental Hospital, which is part of the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

A major aspect of the role is to plan, develop and deliver teaching to Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy (DH&DT) students as part of their Diploma Programme. As teaching is integrated throughout the School, the appointee may also teach dental students as necessary. Teaching will principally involve clinical supervision, tutorials, lectures and project supervision.

The post holder will also fulfil a clinical co-ordination role between the School and the Dental Hospital ensuring excellent liaison and communication between the two institutions.

This post is required to contribute to the delivery of all L&T activities in the School as required by the department.
