A significantly data driven role you will review and support the building of a new strategy across key elements such as improved cohesive working, accelerated learning and Citizen engagement whilst scrutinising the most appropriate paths of travel for the Council from which to achieve our aspirations and goals.

We are open to any specific public sector background you may come from (an understanding of political environments being somewhat integral) what is more important to us is that you are a sharp, rigorous and strategic thinker able to shape and influence change Council-wide. You do need to have experience of leading and delivering on organisationally wide innovation, improvement and transformation.

Adult Social Care Operations

As our Associate Director – Adult Social Care Operations you will oversee a net budget of £40M with a headcount of up to 500 employees. In addition, whilst we are already integrated with the NHS locally you will take the lead on the design and development of a new Health and Social Care plan for Slough.

Whilst a Social Care qualification is preferred it is not essential what is more important is that you have knowledge of Better Care Fund, comprehensive legislative understanding and experience of Locality working delivering top quality integrated services to meet our community needs and requirements. You must be resilient, able to deliver at pace, possess the required budgeting and negotiating skill sets and be highly experienced in working within a performance management data environment.

A full review and development of a new robust financial strategy will be a key priority as we continue to invest in a growing Slough including over the next ten years £6.5 billion being spent on regenerating the Town Centre and other further commercial developments at the same time as managing with reduced funding – particularly now whilst we are in a pandemic.

A fully qualified accountant you will preferably have a local government background and be in possession of strong, sound and resilient financial management skillset.

A very outwardly facing role and following a largely Localities model you will drive forward an up-skilling and self-sufficiency strategy across our communities.

Whilst open to any background within which you’ve been working you must have an understanding of housing particularly legislative requirements and be resilient whilst being an excellent listener and have solid understanding when it comes to the needs of our community.
