We have an exciting opportunity in the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre for someone with a passion for engineering to join us as an Assistant Project Engineer. You will have a passion for one or more of the Integrated Manufacturing Group’s core capabilities, which include IIoT, machine learning and AI, automation, mechanical design, data science, HMI technology (including AR/VR), connectivity (including cybersecurity) and process simulation.
Involvement in the Factory 2050 Integrated Manufacturing project is a fantastic opportunity to influence the way products are being manufactured and to develop innovative solutions to industrial problems in the UK. You will deal directly with some of the most advanced technologies and companies in the world.
As an Assistant Project Engineer, you will work alongside Project Engineers, Technical Leads and others on a diverse range of projects. You work with cutting edge technology to solve real problems, dealing directly with customers and other external stakeholders, and occasionally travelling to visit suppliers and partner companies.
You will be an Engineering student with a clear understanding of the application of digital technologies to the manufacturing environment. We are looking for a diverse skill-set, including good organisational skills and the ability to research, problem solve, design, and implement ideas in a hands-on environment. In this role, you will be required to have a practical approach, a positive attitude, and be a confident communicator.
