Job Description

The Directorate of Information and Library Services (ILS), is seeking to appoint an Academic Systems Officer to help deliver projects and support within the Academic Systems Team which has responsibility for the development, implementation, maintenance, support and enhancement of multiple collaborative, administrative and educational systems.

Based at the spectacular Greenwich Campus which forms part of the Old Royal Naval College, a World Heritage Site on the banks of the River Thames, you will work within the Service Delivery Team, which has responsibility for ensuring excellent support and delivery of key software and hardware for staff and students.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a flexible and dynamic team. You will work with relevant team leaders, supervisors and project managers to assist in ensuring successful project delivery whilst maintaining and continuously improving an excellent support service.

You will be educated to at least degree level or have equivalent demonstrable experiential learning within a relevant technical, educational management or business discipline. You will require excellent IT skills with experience of managing the functional administration of cloud based services and new features, especially within the Office 365 product suite. In addition, a good technical understanding of at least one of the following systems will be essential: virtual learning environments, relational databases, customer relationship management systems, portals or e-portfolio tools.

A practical understanding of the systems development lifecycle is essential to this role, along with knowledge of how systems and technology can support and enhance the learning, research and teaching process within Further or Higher Education.

Your qualities should include determination, enthusiasm, flexibility, a willingness to learn along with excellent communication and document writing skills.
